We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Event Producer to volunteer or intern for the 54th annual African American Day Parade. (APPLY NOW) As an Assistant Event Producer, you will play a vital role in finalizing celebrity talent for an Event on Saturday September 16th at the Adam Clayton Powell Building plaza, and the pre-parade show before the parade on Sunday September 7th. Additionally, you will be present assist with the run of show, talent coordination, and other event duties. This is a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event planning while contributing to a significant community event. Community service letters and letters of recommendation are available upon request.
Responsibilities:
- Talent Coordination: Assist with finalizing celebrity talent, including reaching out to and communicating with potential talent
- Run of Show Support: Be present during events to assist with the run of show, ensuring smooth transitions between performances and coordinating talent as needed.
- Talent Check-In: Assist in the sign-in process for celebrity talent, ensuring they are informed of their schedule, provide necessary information, and are escorted to their designated areas.
- Event Planning Support: Collaborate with the event planning team to assist with various duties such as venue coordination, production logistics, stage setup, and overall event execution.
- Communication and Coordination: Maintain effective communication with talent representatives, production teams, volunteers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and execution of entertainment elements.
- On-Site Assistance: Provide on-site support during sound checks, and performances, assisting with any necessary adjustments or last-minute changes.
- Documentation and Evaluation: Assist with documenting event details, including attendance numbers, talent performance, and audience feedback, to evaluate the success of the entertainment portion of the parade.
- Additional Support: Support the event planning team with other tasks and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure
- Interest in event planning, entertainment management, Community Service, volunteering or the African American Day Parade
- Availability to volunteer during African American Day Parade Weekend
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required
- Previous experience in event planning, talent coordination, or related roles is a plus but not required
