The mother of Rap Legend Tupac speaks her truth. Eyes of The Rainbow is a 1997 narrative film by Gloria Rolando about Assata Shakur. The film was recorded in Cuba 33 years after Shakur’s outcast. The film comprises essentially of an individual meeting with Assata herself on the day her mom passed on as she describes her experience as a political detainee in the United States. She ponders the maltreatments she endured as an inmate and the night she got away from the restorative office. The film includes the African Spirit Oya to show the battles Shakur has looked as a progressive. In the video Shakur discusses her life in Cuba, the impact of her grandma just as Afro-Cuban lineage because of the African Diaspora.
